The Opportunity

Mood is building a world-class social media presence.

We’ve historically neglected organic social and have focused on the fast scale of paid ads. Now that we’re stable, we’re focusing on investing in content creation, affiliate partnerships, and successfully leveraging our social media channels to grow our customer base.

We’re now hiring an entry-level Social Media Manager to own our calendar-building, resource-pooling, and content-creating needs.

You’ll work closely with a content supervisor to help you learn and integrate with the Mood brand and as a collaborative partner for brainstorming and constructive feedback.

This is a full-time, fully remote role, and you’ll work in the timezone of your choice, provided there’s some hours of overlap with US timezones.

We have high expectations for output, quality, communication, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a content calendar for Mood’s Instagram, TikTok, X, Meta, and YT pages.
    • This includes shooting and editing solo videos, sourcing permission for content to repost from influencers and creators, developing partnerships with brands for cross-posting, and pitching larger shoots for higher-level content creation efforts.
  • Produce, schedule, and publish daily posts across all platforms
  • Check-in and respond to comments daily
  • Execute and track paid boosting/ad campaigns
  • Track analytics on social efforts and deliver bi-weekly analytics reports to the team for review
  • Manage affiliate partners program: correspond with existing affiliates, research and recruit new ones, ideate and facilitate strategies to increase partners’ output and boost conversion rates
  • Work with team leaders to set monthly and quarterly goals. Proactively pitch strategies on how to adjust when goals aren’t met
  • Regularly research opportunities to grow our reach on socials and pitch them to the team
  • Tech: you’re comfortable using social media platforms and analytics tracking tools like Databox
  • Upskill: you’re always interested in learning new things that strengthen your core skillset. You’re resourceful and seek these opportunities proactively

Need to Have

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Social Media Manager with a proven ability to grow accounts and convert followers to brand websites
  • Editing: Skilled in Adobe Premiere or comparable video-editing software
  • Performing: Willing to film yourself in simple Mood-friendly sketches to appear on our socials
  • Bonus: Experience with cannabis or hemp-related social media accounts and the delicate nature of thriving in the space
  • Learning: you're an autodidact with impressive speed and resourcefulness. You regularly teach yourself the skills you need from scratch.
  • Trenches: you don’t hesitate to get your hands dirty in the trenches. You’re not too pretentious to grind it out.
  • Complexity: you're highly organized and can complete multiple projects concurrently.
  • Mindset: you calmly handle uncertainty and are comfortable planning for aggressive goals.

  • Compensation: $50K-$65K (DOE)
